Infrared laser thermometer

Just bought this laser thermometer from Harbor Freight for $16 with a 20% discount. http://www.harborfreight.com/infrared-thermometer-93984.html
It's very handy if you need to quickly check the temp from multiple tanks without wetting. There are many similar brands available in Ebay for as cheap as $10. I like this brand because it is compact and has a laser light to point at. My fish went crazy to chase down the light. I tried it out and it gave roughly accurate readings which fluctuate slightly depending on what object you point at. But in comparison with my contact thermometers, including digital, which all went nut after a couple years, it is accurate enough for me.

Yep. I've used one, every now and then, for years. Have had mine from the days when I was really into nitro-powered R/C trucks. I find it most accurate, when you shoot it from the top of the water column down into the substrates. Also, be sure you don't shoot thru the glass canopy, as they could affect the accuracy

Ditto, been using a digital temp gun for years in my tanks, and at work. I also use it when setting temp at my tap when filling. Handy tool for multiple uses.

My dad has one of these. Would help since my In tank thermometers always come off and I don't always feel like putting them on again lol. Nice idea

I've had a few of these for my lizards, temps are usually pretty close, +/- a degree or two.
