So I'm picking up about 6lbs of live rock today and a hermit crab, what else would go well in there? I was thinking maybe a damsel, a shrimp and a couple turbos. Is that too much?

From what I've read no damsel will do well in a tank that size recomended min is 30 gal, a good number of gobies would be fine in that tank size though, same with some blennies, some jawfish, some dartfish.
I'm not going to lie that tank is tiny, and will likely be a major hassel to keep stable, though I dont have any experience with such a small tank.
Suffice to say there are very few salt fish that will do well in a tank that size, as for damsiles the only good thing is that they can handle the higher levels of ammonia they would experience in such a small tank. The ones that do, tend to be "bottom dwellers" in other words they chill on or near the sand all the time.

Again I have never had a tank that size so someone else with more experince in that field will have to chime in.

with the small setup which look's like the fluval tank that came out I would say nano fish would be good like on www.liveaquaria.com they have a section for nano fish like small gobies etc... would work But just be slow with any new additions since the tank is brand new let it cycle properly before adding fish

Got some live rock, I ordered two 50/50 10w mini power compacts and will retrofit them into the hood. 20w should be suitable for a 6 gallon.

nano gobies of the genera gobiosoma, evotia, elacatinus, or gobiodon should be ok...

pretty much nothing else though
some sexy or bumblebee shrimp and dawrf hermits maybe

I would go with pistol shrimp and yellow watchman goby combo. They are great for that size and lot of fun to watch the pistol shrimp constantly rebuilding homes and the watchman moving along with him the whole time.

no i wouldnt do that
watchmens get large - about 4" thats way to much for that tank

i would stick with just inverts to be honest - like biguglyfish said :nilly: sexy or bumble bee shrimp would be a good choice

but if you have to get a fish get a clown goby or a school of yellow tangs

lol sorry biggourami

green black yellow and red clown gobies are cool fish but hide alot

Nope Yellow Watchmen only get 3" and are sutible for a 10 gal (so with good filtration would likely be fine in a 6)
