inheriting a tank advice welcome

A friend of a friend has a 29 gallon reef tank. they just graduated college and are moving out of state and cant take the tank with them. It looks like i will be getting the tank soon. I have never done saltwater before let alone a reef. also we will need to move it from his place to mine which is about an hour and a half away. Any advice and suggestions on transporting or general care of hte tank would be appreciated. I havent seen the tank yet but my understanding is there are no fish in it. It just had coral and shrimp. and it has been running about a year from what i understand. I know nothing else.

Read a lot!, Start with Salt Water Aquariums for Dummies, it is a quick, easy read that gives you a good grasp of the basics. Most Public libraries have a copy.
