so I've noticed that the tips of my arowanas barbels are pink and they look like they are getting shorter. One of them are significantly shorter than the other. I'm increasing water changes to see if that helps but I was just wondering if anyone knows what this may be or have any idea what is going on...

When did you observe this and how long now? how big is your aro and what is the size of your tank? aros sometimes rub against the glass and their lower jaw could get a little raw and hence the barbel issue.. What do you feed your aro? sometimes if you do feeders.. sick feeders can cause this.. i had a scare once.. one of my aros.. then around 6".. after a sick feeder.. dropped both barbels.. but it healed back in like a month.. as you said clean water.. right temp should get it back.. and oh tankmates, what tankmates do you have along with the aro?

I rarely feed him feeders unless he manages to grab one of the tiny ones intended for my clownknife. He is about 24" and is housed with a 12" TSN and a 9" CK.

he also has pink coloration around the edges of his gills

what size tank. Rubbing on the glass is a likely cause
