Injured Bichir

I picked this guys up from my LFS a few weeks back for next to nothing since it had an injured tail (he was in a tank with a lobster twice its size). I wasn't to sure if it was going to make it but after a few weeks he's active and well. His tail is starting to heal too but i was curious if the tail will ever make a full recovery. He swims around and everything just fine...

Clean water. Looks like mostly fin and not flesh which should regrow, keep it on a good diet and clean water and it should heal fine.

It probably won't grow huge no matter what, cb senegals rarely exceed 10", go for another species if you want size

Im not sure if the Fine Bone will grow back even with rest but it will regrow to a point. As stated if you want size go for other species. Weeksi or Ornate are Monsters

It'll grow back, I've had Endli's and Ornate's lose perfect bite marks and grow back as long as it wasn't to the body. I do have an ornate that has a bite mark to the body that has never grown back.

What size tank? Thats awesome that you rescued a fish

It's currently in a 30 gallon, but eventually it'll be moving into a 150 gallon tank

it will heal up completly, so don't worry. He looks healthy too, so i see no problem at all.
