Is this a sign of mating / biting / infection / something else i need to be worried about?

He is eating well and a lot as usual but not as active as the other rays.

Looks like they are raw. Usually from breeding activity. Sometimes other rays and fish can nip at claspers

Are they beginning to heal? I once saw a male that wouldn't stop breeding. His claspers were raw and white like cauliflower.

Keep an eye in case you need to divide
