My 6"-7" Datnoid is beating my 10" GATF almost everyday for almost two weeks now. And this morning, this happened...... Sorry about the quality of the pics. I just did water change. It looks so much worse in person. A lot of scales are missing and fins are so damaged. My initial reaction was get rid of the culprit. And so I did. I just traded my datnoid and 2 14" Endl Bichir for 3 thinbar silver dollar and XXL driftwood. :)
What do I do next? Will it grow back? How long it will take?

It should grow back in 2 week add some salt to kill bacteria

Yes, you can overdose with anything. But you can add a good amount of salt with out adverse effects. I've added 4 tablespoons per 5 gallons for clown loaches that had horrible ich, and they turned out just fine. That much salt isn't needed here though. I'd go with 2 tablespoons per 5 gallons here. We're talking aquarium salt, not table salt if you aren't familiar. FYI, Morton's solar salt from Home Depot is the same as aquarium salt, and WAY cheaper. Make sure you add the salt gradually over a day or so.
