The darkness in the body says it's possibly bacterial. You could try triple sulfa or E.M., but I would personally just euthanize the fish. I mean, not to belittle the value of life, but it's a guppy. Just my take.

she was dark when i got her, with yellow and black on her main body so shes a little washed out
:( dont want to put her down i drove 45 mins to my favorite LFS when these guys came in i like my "just guppies"

:iagree: You could by a couple, and before you know it you'll have so many.

Either way, if you decide to keep trying go for it. I salute you for trying hard to save a guppy. Never seen that before. True responsible fishkeeper. :)

Good Luck!

O.o..she would be my 10th guppy i have in my breeding tank. i make monster guppies!! my largest females are nearly 3 inches...(every one keeps flaming me saying they are not.....ill tape it)

10th mature adult....100s of babies

any suggestions? anything more anyone can think of me doing?

Well, I do know marine salt goes a long way. Especially for hardwater fish like guppies. They can live in full marine for a very long time but do best in brackish. The bacteria might very well die if you add a little marine salt to the Q tank. Mix it outside the tank in some tank water and pour it in predissolved. I'd shoot for an eventual dose of 1 tbsp. per gallon, but not right away. Add it gradually over a day or two and wait a few hours between each increase. Best to use a hydrometer so you don't get too far past 1.005sg. If no marine, try normal pure salt. Any source of pure sodium chloride is fine. Kosher/pickling salt is my favorite.

And do test the water for ammonia, nitrIte and nitrAte if you haven't already.

^_^ thanks for the help even if it is for my guppy ^_^
tested the water its all clear, shes in a 1 gallon tank ATM with an air hose on low..added a little 'aquarium' salt , and will gradually increase it ..seeing that its such a small tank . i dont have a hydrometer..and probably cant go get one right now..ill just keep the salt around 1 tbs and do frequent water changes... and hope it gos well ^_^

*fingers crossed*

Best of luck with the girl. Are you sure it's pure guppy? The pattern reminds me of some other livebearers I've seen like gambusia.

im not sure..i picked her cuz she looked sooo different, when she was at the store she had tiger like teal stripes running down the back half of her body....so im not sure..one of the reasons i really want her to pull threw
