Injured or holding ? Video

that is weird... usually don't they just laid their frys... I would personally grab a 5-10 gallon tank and setup the tank for your yellow cichlid to breed. I believe either there is frys in his mouth < doubt that. haha or a little fight.
 
I will report tommorow if infact it is eating but later on tonight all of a sudden the fish seemed normal again.

Wow this post helped me out. I have an electric yellow cichlid that I wasn't sure if it was sick or holding. I have a crappy camera so I couldn't really capture it and put it here...today I check out this forum and bam your cichlid has the problems and features (puffed throat not quite closed mouth) that mine has. Thanks ^^
 
I caught the little one back to normal last night and today she is back to a puffy mouth
 
looks like brooding behavior- may be releasing the eggs to eat or maybe she swallowed them, thats common in immature mouth brooders. you may want to separate her in a 10 gallon or something because if she is uncomfortable she will hold the fry for a long time. i had one hold for a month. i had to strip her of the eggs.
