Injured or Sick Ornatipinnis

A week or so ago I made an injury post on my ornate, thinking that this was caused when it smashed against some driftwood in the tank. Removed all the wood and was getting worried when the same thing happened to it's right side as well.

Been treating with water changes and Ocean Free's General Aid Special but could use some insight.

The area of concern is just beside the gills.

Too much glare from the sun makes crappy pix, but just to show what's messing up my fish.
 
What are the active ingredients of Ocean Free's General Aid Special?

1. Size of tank?

2. a. Ammonia?
b. Nitrite?
c. Nitrate?
d. pH, KH and GH?

3. Temperature?

4. FW (fresh water) or BW (brackish)?

5. How long the aquarium has been set up?

6. What fish do you have? How many are in your tank? How big are they? How long have you had them?

7. Were the fish placed under quarantine period (minus the first batch from the point wherein the tank is ready to accommodate the inhabitants)?

8. a. Any live plants? Fake plants?
b. Sand, gravel, barebottom?
c. Rocks, woods, fancy decors? Any hollow decors?

9. a. Filtration?
b. Heater?

10. a. Lighting schedule? What lights are used?
b. Any sunlight exposure? How long?

11. a. Water change schedule?
b. Volume of water changed?
c. Frequency of gravel/sand (if any) vacuumed?

12. Foods?
How often are they fed?

13. a. Any abnormal signs/symptoms?
b. Appearance of poop?
c. Appearance of gills?

14. a. Have you treated your fish ahead of diagnosis?
b. What meds were used?

15. Insert photos of fish in question and full tank shot if necessary.

I've read that Ocean Free's General Aid Special' active ingredient is acryflavine.

Below are the info (as of what I know) you requested

- 18"x18"x48"

2. a. Ammonia?

- No way of measuring these as of now

3. Temperature?
- heater set up to 28 deg

4. FW (fresh water) or BW (brackish)?
- FW

5. How long the aquarium has been set up?
- Tank has been setup for 4 years as of last month

6. What fish do you have? How many are in your tank? How big are they? How long have you had them?
- 1 18" ornate 4 1/2 years
- 1 13" albino pleco 4 1/2 years
- 1 15" Jar - 2 years
- 2 10" red tiger oscars 1/12 years
- 2 12" endli first 1 1/2 years, second 3 months
- 2 11" delhezi 2 years
- 1 11" senegal 2 years
- 1 13" spotted gar 8 months
- 1 11" ornate 3 months
- 2 11" lapradei's 1 month


7. Were the fish placed under quarantine period (minus the first batch from the point wherein the tank is ready to accommodate the inhabitants)?
- yes 2-3 weeks at lfs, another 1-2 days in my quarantine tank.

- Live plants (vallisneria, amazon swords, some cryptocorynes, anubias)
- gravel bottom
- 2 pcs of driftwood, since removed after first sight of injury

- overhead filter and heater

b. Any sunlight exposure? How long?
- 10 watt florescent lamp during the night (2-4 hours) for viewing purposes
- sunlight 3-5 hours (tank is outdoors but in garage)

c. Frequency of gravel/sand (if any) vacuumed?
- Weekly water change with 1/2 volume of tank
- gravel vacuuming 2-3x a month on areas without plants

How often are they fed?
- fish as fed daily with pieces of beef, chicken heart/gizzard/intestines, house lizards, quarantined feeder guppies

13. a. Any abnormal signs/symptoms?
b. Appearance of poop?
c. Appearance of gills?
- haven't seen the ornate's poop, gills appear normal
- seen it aggresively rubbing itself against the substrate on intervals of two's on the side where the wound/infection is.

- used ocean free general aid special

wait? You're keeping an 18" ornate in a tank which is 18" in length?
