Hey ray peeps! So I was checking out my rays today during feeding, and I noticed a small red bump/bubble/who-knows-what under my female's disc, right between where the base of her tail and the underside of her disc meet up. It's incredibly hard to see, and impossible to get a photo of, otherwise I would post a picture of it here! I'd say it's about a quarter of an inch in diameter, maybe a bit smaller, and red. I can't see it really well though, and without literally taking her out of the water, holding her down and trying to pull up that part of her disc (which I think would be really hard considering how slick their disc's are, and would rather not stress her out) I just don't know how to better look at that area.

So, that being said, anyone have experience with anything fitting that description? She's a hystrix, and she's in a quarantine tank with my male hystrix. Both are around 4", and are fairly new (they came in a little thin, so I'm fattening them up so that I can get them dewormed and in their big pond soon). I'm very much attached to these little buggers already - they have quite the personality! (and I absolutely love her pattern!). I'd like to make sure she sticks around to be a part of my breeding group I'm trying to assemble. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks guys!!!

I should add, the pair ARE wild caught, and there aren't any other tankmates with them yet, and there's really nothing for her to scrape or puncture herself on (other than the male ray's barb, lol). The only other somewhat suspicious thing going on is that the male has some bumps on his barb, but they aren't red at all, and oddly enough look like the rest of his barb...just sort of a bubble looking growth. I can post a picture of that - I'll try to post one if you think it's of any relevance, but like I said, they really don't look at all similar. Although now that I think about it, last week she did have a very small slightly reddish/upraised area on the top of her disc (it sort of looked like a pimple), but it went away after a week or so after I first noticed it. But it was much smaller than this spot is. ??? Should I just treat the tank itself with Prazi, and then treat them for internal parasites when that treatment is done? (I was waiting to fatten them up before I took in a fecal to our vets office).
