I've had my tank running almost a year and all was good until a few weeks ago when the temp went up and up, unplugged heaters and temp stays the same so bought a mercury thermometer and reads way different. Is there a temperature calibration in the settings somewhere? Or is it junk?IMG_20180215_150402.jpg IMG_20180215_150413.jpg

i just got one of these and from my understanding there is a calibration, should be CA in the settings.

Thanks, had to be smarter than equipment haha if you have issues with yours, basically have to do the math yourself and change the temperature manually it doesn't do it automatically.

I have one of these as well. There is a temp calibration setting but it is very odd that it suddenly is just off over 6 degrees. I would replace the temp probe if I were you and see if that fixes it. You should be able to purchase just the probe off of Amazon.

Yep, I also suggest a new temp probe. I had to do it on two of my InkBird controllers, and I put silicone grease on the new ones to keep water from getting in. After that, some adjustments might need to be made to the offset/calibration. Btw, they call it a “calibration” setting, but it’s really just an offset to make the temp reading match a thermometer.

Didn't know you could buy the temperature probe. Yea I thought it was odd that the temp changed over night. Kinda scary considering if it went the other way and stuck the heaters on instead of shutting them off, I now have the temps set on heaters to 76 as well as the controller. I have a snapping turtle so he's pretty tolerable to temp changes

All of my InkBirds now have the headphone jack style probe. My first one didn’t come with that style and instead had a direct wired probe, but I swapped it out with the headphone jack style when I got a new probe. It requires unsoldering the old probe and soldering in the new pigtail for the new style probe.

Btw, the replacement probes from Amazon come with the new pigtail the solders into the InkBird unit. You will have to disassemble it to get the control board out.

Thanks for input guys. Seems like a pretty simple swap over. Yea mine doesn't have the jack so some soldering will be in store. Pretty handy that you can replace the probe
