With having to pick up a heater I was wondering if Hydor Inline heaters are reliable. I will be running it with an Inkbird or Ranco controller so the heater staying on us not a problem but I have heard that they leak and I was wondering if this is true.

I have used Hydors, and found I needed hardware store hose clamps to secure hoses.
I also believe putting a check valve below the Hydro is important, because if they run dry, they burn out. This can happen during a power outage if your pump stops and water drains out. A check valve stops the water from running backwards leaving the heater dry.
The heater controller is also very important, I had a Hydor get stuck on the "on" position, and it almost melted the PVC connected to it.
