Is Cobalt the only making a proper inline configuration? They hold the IP, or are they just not popular?
I bought a couple of these a quality decade ago & one's still running fine, but takes quite a bit of power for the water movement & isn't adjustable - is there anybody making similar in DC?

I'm trying to move all of my tanks onto external pipe and/or pail filters, but am only really finding pond/fountain pumps with grates at the intake so can't work external. Something with submerged and wall-mount option would be what I seek (as per the Cobalt)

I used to use Rio pumps to run things like fluidized bed units, UV sterilizers, or modular filters, but this was years ago and I don't know their products and sizes anymore. Now Sicce pumps have a great reputation and they make everything from smaller aquarium pumps to 5000 gph pond pumps (maybe bigger, I don't know), so you might look into those.

I've been using this Sicce 1200 gal per hour pump since July 2020

It powers my 125 sump to 180 gal cichlid gal.
I use PVC valves to control speed, and approx full throttle all the time.
So far I've been pleased.IMG_2814.jpeg

Hobbyists on the marine side use inline pumps, especially in larger setups. Try a search on R2R and you'll find info on at least 2-3 different brands.
