I recently got two peacock bass and a red tailed cat and added them to my aquarium with my Fly River Turtles. I want to feed my fish live prey but don't want to risk introducing any sort of disease into my tank. I've put in too much work with those damn turtles to have them die from some stupid disease from a feeder fish. What I have been doing is freezing the feeder fish and then thawing them as needed. Is freezing a fairly safe method? Secondly, is there some sort of treatment I could add to a tank full of feeders and be confident it would eliminate all parasites and pathogens? If so would the chemicals build up in the fish and then in turn in my fish? I guess the simple solution would be to just get another tank and keep the turtles separate from the fish but I just don't have room right now. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
PS- I have always been a reptile guy and am just getting into fish so if I seem like a total dumbass just bear with me.
