there isn't much traffic in this forum besides questions about the basics, so i figured that i would try to get a thread going that addresses some of the topics that the more experienced keepers have questions about, so lets hear it... what have you guys always wondered about? lets have another good conversation here, post even if you aren't 100% sure about the answer. this is the thread for some healthy debate without insults.

The difference between a super red and a regular red ?

I Never have seen a actual picture of a super red in a members tank/Or abroad
that has shocked me into beliving that their is ANY Actual diffrence between
the two .
A SUPER RED
A REGULAR RBP

SAME Exact thing can anyone proof me wrong .

I would like resent pic's from YOUR tank side by side .

I can make a RBP Rely Red , So just do not argue the fact that they are RED'er .

Thats a flattering title.. Im not to keen on pygos i have only had a three ternetzi.. I do believe that the reguar reds and the super reds are the same fish.. Kinda like an elong and a black mask.. same fish the black mask is a little more indemand so i guess that they give it a different name and price.. someone please correct me if im wrong

Can RBP's kept with fish bigger to them...? Like Aro's and bichirs..? I know that the bichirs might endup getting eatin... but an aro ?

i don't think that there is any real differences between super reds and regular natts, although i recall frank from opefe talking a few weeks ago about natts from rio araguaia having so much red on them that they actually look like piraya.

as far as coloration goes, i think it will vary by location, but i have seen very dull colored natts attain vibrant coloration with the right conditions and i have seen "super reds" that showed almost no red at all, so once again, i think that locality has something to do with coloration, but ultimately stress, diet, and water conditions in the home aquarium will be much more of a factor.

I have had a common pleco in with my Reds for two months. But I have black gravel and a black background. I think that really helps camo it. I also keep my P's well fed.
