In God We Trust
Ok so i have a drip on my bigger tank running for several months now and love it! It is ran off of the washer machine line, I just tee'd it and ran it through the attic and down the wall to my tank. Well i wanted to do my other tank, so i just cut the line in the attic and installed a compression fitting tee. Of course it leaked, i never can get compression fittings to hold water, i must be doing something wrong. :)
So i decided to go back to home depot and get a barbed tee (plastic) I tee'd off from there to feed my other tank.

The question i have is if it leaks, i will have a HUGE problem, wet sheet rock, insulation, ruin my wood floors....etc....

I am just wondering if there is a safer way of doing this, of if anybody has any suggestions, as it makes it hard to sleep at night wondering if it will start to leak

i always have problems with those compressions fittings as well, until i started using this little nipple fitting that goes INSIDE the line. did you use one of these along with the compression sleeve? after using one of those i never got any more leaks. without i find that the tubing gets crushed, warped, and starts to leak. i'd try it with one of these before using a barbed fitting

good pic! yes i used one of those. I was not sure if it pushes all the way on or just partially on. I kind of wondered if i was cutting the line while i was tightening. i tried hand tight plus 1/4 turn, it leaked so then i really starting turning it and it STILL leaked!

not sure what the problem was.

what do you think about the barbed fitting, trust it?

yeah it goes all the way in. maybe you damaged the compression sleeve while tightening? only other thing i can think of are those quick connect fittings like this. never had leaks with these either:

i actually bought that and the barbed tee, and ended up using the barbed tee because it looked very simple, and for being above me in the attic i wanted simple and something that seemed full proof. Now i am just doubting... lol

Run the tee OUTSIDE the attic.

My drip line is originated in the garage where the dosmatic is. Right before going into the attic, I tee them off (one to fish room, one to the dining room where the big tank is).

In the fish room, I have a single line coming down from the ceiling, then I tee them off to each tank in the fish room

Inside the attic, I do not have any tee or connector to eliminate the possibililty of mishap.

I was thinking that i should have tee'd off inside the laundry room where the water originates. I may buy more line and do that. :( If i had a leak in the laundry room nothing too bad would get damaged.

i just dont feel safe with a tee in the attic.
