Installing the Drain Valve to the Eheim 2262 Container

Putting together my new Eheim 2262 and had a quick question about the Drain Valve
How is the Washer facing the Drain Valve "Groove Side" or "Flat Side"

Does the Rubber Gasket sit on the out side of Container

The rubber o-ring/gasket slips onto the threaded portion of the drain valve so it is on the OUTSIDE of the canister body.

I have the flat face of the nut facing the wall of the canister body or toward the drain valve. I really don't know if it makes a difference but I checked my spare 2260 to double check how it is installed.

Don't over tighten the drain valve into the nut as there is the potential to crack the plastic nut. I had to buy spare nuts for a used 2260 I purchased because the drain valve leaked due to the cracked nut.

Thanks De I found the hard way with the pump cover !! #$% , I just placed my order for it.

The pump cover shouldn't be anywhere near the drain valve. Unless you dropped it on it, of course!!

I just hate waiting on parts.

NOOOO I was going to add the pump on top of the mounting plate an I over tighten the Elbow to the pump cover an crack it!
