Has anyone experienced instant ocean salt making water resistant to seachem's pH buffer? My water parameters are 0,0, >15 and i still cant seem to hold a ph of 8.3 for more than a couple of weeks, if not days. I know its not fish waste acidifying the water because it occurs even in matured, understocked tanks. Any help is appreciated.

My PH drops to 8.0 with out supps.
I use KALK and I keep at 8.0-8.2
Try keeping at least one light on all the time (alternate tank lights and sump lights)
This will help keep PH stable.

this is perhaps a stupid question, maybe something i should know. But what does tank / sump lighting have to do with a stable ph?
