Just wondering if anybody has done this before on a large pond/tank. I'm looking at building a huge tank for aquaponics and wonder if anybody has built with the insulated concrete forms...

Reason being...It's quick to build with...Stack and pour in cement...and I need it to retain heat...Looking at Tilapia fish and with -30 C weather at times...Need to retain heat...Though it will be in an insulated building...

I'm also planning upon using floating platforms to help reduce the heat loss and to allow growing space for some plants

Sounds like a great idea.
You should put polystyrene sheets under the concrete base, or over it and plaster over that for insulation too.

I have not seen those used yet.

There is a fish farm near me that uses concrete troughs as the GO and breeding. Basically the same concept your thinking of minus the foam. the foam can only help make it better. I think it would work...
