Is it still worth it to insulate three sides of a tank/indoor pond if you include glass on one side? Will it still hold more heat than your average tank or will the glass on one side be enough to negate any benefits you would see from it?

Of course it is still worth it. It minimizes the SA exposed to ambient temps which lower your water temp.

Just wanted to be sure. I see it in here with quite a few of the ponds, but not in the DIY tank section, which is where you're more likely to see glass used. I'm looking to do something that combines a little of both.

Ya I'm not sure why ppl don't use insulation on tanks. Prob so they can check for leaks and the lack of space but I would never build a uninsulated tank/pond again

Any additional insulation will only help. They glass panel won't loss as much as the top. If you can, build a nice, tight fitting lid to help retain heat at night or when not viewing the fish.

may wanna read about Ted's outdoor tropical 2400 US gal pond (in Seattle!) at anythingfish.com

it's got a big window and it is heavily insulated
