Intake and output placement in 120g 48x24x24

I am trying to fugure out the best placement for my intake and outputs in my tank.I have a fluval 305 and a FX5 and not sure if I should have the intakes more in the center of the tank or have them near the corner of the tank.I was also woundering if I should keep my outputs up high to aggitate the water or drop them a bit lower.
