Hello everybody, my name is Everett and I have reached that stage when I can start a lot of things that were put off until the kid was grown.
So, about 3 months ago I got hold of a 20 gallon tall tank.
Spent a month setting it up and getting plants growing, then I added a pair of kribs, a pair of angels, a pleco and a shark,( the shark died).
Everybody else seems to be very healthy and happy.
So, I am already going to get another tank just like the one I have.
I will put the angels and the pleco in the second tank.
Like the title says, interest to obsession, step 1.
2 tanks in the dining room is about the limit of my wife's willingness to accomodate my new-found hobby.
Ready or not, here comes obsession step 2.
But she never goes into my basement except to the laundry room. So, my future plans are for a mini-Monster 200 gallon build. :headbang2
If I get any bigger than that, I'm afraid she won't be as excited about it as I am.
And I can tell you that a new wife costs a lot more than an aquarium.

LOL I have to work the aquarium/wife ballancing act myself. My fish options are currently limited. Our tanks are in the living room so I cannot have any "creepy" or "ugly" fish lol
welcome aboard MFK. This group has been alot of help to me since I joined and Ive learned alot from the others here.

I hope the second tank is much bigger than the 20 gallon you started with. Angels and plecos need more space than that.

200 gallon tanks aren't that hard to come by. You can probably get one off of Craig'slist cheaper than building one. Just watch the lists carefully.

And welcome to MFK.

Hello everybody. I had a real nice reef tank 10 years ago that had a major collapse during a power outage that I was not home for. I had a sea apple (I know, not supposed to keep in a tank) that bit the dust and took everything with it. I was crushed and sold my supplies and gave my tanks away. I have the bug again. I built a bar in my home addition and made sure I ran plumbing and power to the inside corner of the room, behind the bar. I want to do it first class this time. I looked at 1/4 cylinder corner tanks and WOW are they expensive. These are 36" radius and 30" tall. I saw another that was a flat front corner tank but it was a custom from DAS. I am very handy and am thinking about building my own. Any thoughts?
