Interested in Pikes

I have a 120 gal and am thinking about getting a pike. I like several of them, but I think I want one about 8-12' long, and would prefer a colorful one. Any suggestions? Pics with suggestions help most. I am an old Salty, with a fast growing Lion, freshwater is kinda new to me, lol.

I like the cobra pikes and they max out around the size you want. By the way 8-12' is the size of a small car! lol

Look through the photo part of this section, you'll see almost all kinds. If you like red they have atabapos and tapajos that are nice. Multicolor look at vittatas, lenticulatas and marmoratas. orange has xingu I and cobra (Tapajos I).

Sup man! Congrats! Pikes are totally awesome! Where abouts in Iowa are you? If your not to far from Nebraska I know of several LFS in Omaha AND in Lincoln that carry a wide variety of fish and regularly get in Crenicichla.... Having said that...go to this site....www.tangledupincichlids.com aka Jeff Rapps. Hes a SA/CA cichlid importer and gets in pikes all the time. Great guy. Bought from him several times, top notch fish. I would go with Crenicichla acutirostris or Crenicichla strigata, or Crenicichla vittata. They are cheaper on his list and more laid back than some of his other pikes...plus they are pretty, especially the acutirostris...
