Hello,

Well this is my first post in MKF, but I've been reading quite a lot of this forum before and I wanted to ask, in your experience what interesting fish to keep would you recommend?

I have kept an Oscar for a little while, but gave him away, because I got facinated by Festae... Plus oscars used to get lazy when they get bigger..

Most of the time when I got into keeping fish, I kept Festae.. Not for too long, but about a year.. Everything was well, I really loved Festae until few weeks ago, when I was not at home, my male killed his female.. Don't know why :( They spawned few times and I thouth they were a bonded pair.. I can't find a female to be the size of my male and I think I might be giving up keeping Festae.. The male is about 7", my female used to be about 5".

Currently I have a 55g, but in near future I was planning to get 125-220g, for only two Festae..

I could sell/give away my male and get a new batch of Festae or I could start keeping new species..

What would you recommend? What species could be as interesting or even more interesting then Festae?

Video of the pair I used to have..

I narrowed my search a bit. I will be looking for a "wet pet".

At the moment I am looking into:

Nandopsis haitiensis

Neetroplus nematopus

Green terror (gold saum)

Red tiger mota.

Depenging on what I get will matter if I am going to upgrade to a bigger tank or not (or more likely how soon I will do that).

Any recommendations what would fit the "wet pet" criteria better? Or a new fish recommendation? I will get a pack of 4-8 and only keep the dominant pair. Black nasty or neet might be hard to come by..
