I read up on polypterus studies one in a while and found a new one about the HoX clusters of genes. Apparently compared to humans, sharks, bass, etc polypterus Hox clusters are a "mosaic". This points towards ray finned fish HoX clusters are more evolved then ours, which can partly explain why they have been around for millions of years! Evolution at its finest imo

Right, I feel like its confirmation of natures "if it ain't broke don't fix it" supposed evolutionary blocking. Ii think its more of its just perfect for the environment its in
