This is going to be hard to describe, but I'll do my best to paint a decent picture.

This morning after turning on the lights and throwing in some food, my 2 Gold Spot Commons started harrasing each other in a way that I have never seen before. It all started when they were side by side. Each of them went ridgid, bumped the other and then started to shake. After this they started to swim around the tank in a gracefull manner where it looked like one was trying to get on top of the other to attach itself to the others head.

I know that the description is vague and it will be hard to figure out what exactly is going on but I was hoping that somone out there had experience with this or more knowledge than myself. Is it just normal agression over territory? Is one going to kill the other? Is it something else? Thanks.

was one pleco recently added?

I bought them both together at the same time. The LFS said they were bought in by a customer so they have both been together for some time. I have had them for about 5 months now. They are both approx 7-8 inches in size.

Both fighting for territory maybe. Did you redo the decorations?

I have removed some fake plants to create extra space in the tank.

Both fish look like they have damaged each other, a flesh wound that kinda looks like a small fungus infection. Looks like small stings of flesh moving in the water current still attached to the fish.
