Hi everyone, does anyone know of a interesting pondfish. The fish must be be small to medium sized and able to withstand VA climate. All fish will be considered.:)

Define "small to medium sized". For an Arapima keeper that would be something like a Silver Aro or a Peacock Bass. For an Oscar keeper, that would mean a Guppy or something. :D being specific is helpful to you and others trying to help you. :)

I would say, because of your climate, Sunfish and other natives are your best bet.

http://www.zimmermansfish.com/ is a good place to look

Sorry for lack of description, by medium to small I would say no longer than 20 inches.(= I like the sunfish idea and thanks for the website.

Okay, that helps a lot.

As has been previously said, sunfish are a pretty neat option, but you'll have to be sure that you select species that can survive in you climate.

Exactly how big (gallons, dimensions) is this pond? You might be able to do some smaller predatory fish if it's large enough.

Here's my pond fish. Tors and Spinibarbus barbs.

The tors and spinibarbus barbs are cool and thanks for the website.(= I don't have any exact dimensions, but somewhere in the lines of 10' long, 8' wide, 2-3' deep. I actualy wouldn't mind bigger fish then originally thought. thanks

Goldfish are an obvious choice. Shubunkins and Sarrasa are variants of Comets that very common. Wakins and Watonia are a hardy double tail goldfish in different colors. Think fancy goldfish but longer body and smaller tails. Have seen 10"+ Watonia in Chicagoland ponds that have been there for many years.

Orfe are a popular UK fish and can be found here.

Natives are an option. Bullheads make for a mid-sized scavenger.
