I recently added a snowflake eel to my tank.
An interesting behavior I am seeing with my lyretail wrasse...
When the eel is sticking his head out from under the rock, my wrasse goes up to him and pushes the eel back underneath the rock with its body, then will use his body to cover the hole that the eel was just sticking its head out of, and he'll sit there for a few minutes just blocking the eels hole with his body.
It's really bizzar.
Anyone else notice interesting or unique behaviors with their wrasses?

First off...beautiful Harlequin in your avatar!! Is that your fish?

I haven't specifically witnessed the behaviour you mentioned, but I'm not surprised at all.

I've noticed some very strange actions with some of my wrasses. My lunare swims in tight circles (oddly tight circles) around his meal and stirs up sand so the eels won't get to it...then when they give up on it he moves it to his little cave and wedges in the corner. :screwy:

I think my harlequin is in love with my lion because everywhere my lion goes my harlequin is literally touching him. Usually upside down, belly to belly (I would want to avoid those venomous spines too!!) and they sleep in the same cave at night. :screwy:

Wrasses...you gotta love 'em. :nilly:

Yes, the tusk is my new fishy I got last week (along with the eel) AWESOME fish. Very bold, not so jumpy like my lyretail. So far mine is giving my lion a healthy amount of space. Both my wrasses sleep in the same niche in the rock though, I'll have to get a pic of em at night some time, they lay side-by-side in the same hole, it's kinda cute.
