So i found pics on the internet of a couple of guys fishing in lower BR and they seem to have caught a intermedia resembling cichla. However they were caught no were near colormbia/casiquere/venez etc.. far from it infact. These fish were caught from Rio Paraná and its tributaries. (now if you don't know were that is here is a picture)

Notice how its close to Paraguay. Now the importance and question here is what are these intermedia looking like cichla? And of course how can i get one haha. But on a more important note whats going on? Anyone know because this is mind boggling.

Not intermedia, look more like yellow/light green piquiti to me.

those are gorgeous fish, but i also think they look more like those crazy green azuls.

at any rate, it wouldnt surprise me if these fish were outside of the orinoco. in my long orino thread, i have examples of orinos caught all over south america, not just the rio negro and orinoco drainages

Well i would join the green azul boat but their bar structure and count are not similar at all to that of azul neither is there scale color but that may not be so important.

...hi Im from Brazil....these fish are zullies....there aren t intermedias in Cardoso....depends on the water the zullies change their colour ...green....silver...yellow......
cheers!

Wow so they have a sort of temensis like acu stage is this during any particular season or breeding or what? Because this color state looks amazing.
