I finally took the UGF out of my tank and i wanna give my 75 gallon a lil help more to keep the water clear. Right now I have a 2 emp 400's running. I was thinking about running a fluval internal filter or a UV on it. What doyou think would be best? If UV is best which would be best for a 75 but later to be used on a 150?

how is your tank cloudy? Does it look like debris is floating around, or is it an algae/bacteria bloom kind of cloudy? I've never used a uv before, but they're supposed to be pretty good at clearing up algae blooms. That being said I think its an easy matter to control for algae blooms, and bacteria blooms usually have a good reason for happening, so i would like to know when one is happening. If your tank isn't terribly dirty, and your parameters are just fine you probably don't need another filter

Did the water get cloudy all of a sudden from removing the ugf? I've had a emp 400 running on a 30g stocked with a 10" Oscar and didn't have any problems with cloudy water. I would first try to see if you can control the cloudiness by do a large water change and testing your water to see if everything checks out. It could be a bacteria bloom. I would try to see if it's resolvable before going ahead with getting a uv. If your gonna add on another filter I wouldn't get a internal one. All that will do is take up space, I'd go for another hob(if I will fit) or a canister.

I agree, try to clear it up first through time and water changes. A good additional filter for water polishing is a HOT mag 250, basically a small canister you hang on the back of the tank you can set up for water polishing. You can also move it easily from tank to tank for occasional water polishing. You can also set it up full time just for additional mech, you can even add additional chemical media like Purigen, which I recently tried on my 33 gallon and it took my water from very clear (already has a Rena xp3 on a 33 gallon!) to crystal clear.

the only uv's i have ever used are the turbo twist uv's which work superb. If you want to go the uv route you have to use some kind of canister filter or a wet dry system to power it because the run on the return line. Really isnt any other way. Another really good product that doesnt seem like any one ever really use on here is the life guard water polishing systems. which you will still need some kind of hang on drain box. For a 75 I would go with a rena xp4. And use the top two media baskets with different size polishing pads all the way down to the fine. And fill the other two with ceramic rings And if you feel that you still need the water more clear which i dought would be needed. Put a uv in its return line to the tank. The uv size depends on what you are using for canister or wet dry because they are based on flow rate for each unit. So you would need to figure out what you are using for a canister and buy the right size uv rated for the return rate of that specific canister. Hope that makes sence
