I know these things pretty much suck but they can they be used in anyway to add some biofilter to your system. My new 90 gallon is running only on two aqua clear 70's currently. The tank is running nicely although I just want to add a little bit more bio and some more flow to help polish the water better.

I can't add another Aqua Clear or a bigger one because the hood I have only can fit those two filters. I can add a canister but I have heard sooo many stories about canisters leaking and causing floods that honestly I don't know which one I can trust. So If I add the Eheim Aqua ball

would this add any benefit to my cause or no????

it would add to your bio filtration, i suppose you could disguise it with a piece of bogwood or similar,i used to have an internal in one of my old tanks and that housed a jag, synspilum, dempsey, pike and a couple of plecs so they can do the job ok,nowadays i run 2 external canisters but you do run the risk of flooding when you carry out maintenance but some are better than others i've always found eheim pretty reliable though, hope this helps:)
