internet sale fraud!!!

i have been trying to sell something online, when i was contacted by somebodys "agent". i know this D-bag is a scammer, but what can i do to catch him or at least seek revenge? is there a way i can get his IP address through an email he sent? i just recieved the (fake) check today and he is asking when i am going to deposit it and wire him his (shipping) money. anyone have any good ideas? :naughty:
 
Yep yep, read through it for a bit and you might find some good information - but it seems like a real big waste of time to me.

I get a lot of people e-mailing me after I lose an E-Bay auction saying I have a second chance, but they're going to mail me a check for 3 grand and I have to cash it then forward the remainder to Italy, or somthing crazy like that.

Usually I tell them OK just to waste their time and turn the cashiers checks they turn into the bank for fraud.

that's what i'm doing...ive just been making this jerk-off waste his time making and sending this stupid fake check. i would just love to "pay him back" if you know what i mean.
 
Whatever, I'm a firm believer in karma, scammers get what's coming to them - then sit around wondering "Why is my luck so bad?"

Gotta have peices of dirt in this world to remind us why we adhere to a certain level of integrity, IMO.
