So I have a 680-gallon-some intex pool in my basement, the kind with the inflatable ring and currently I have my 6 koi in it till their 5k pond is done but after they are out I have an empty 8x8' slice of the basement and I have the choice to either keep the pool there or make some sort of custom setup.
I'm going to be getting some large catfish in the future so
I'm wondering is it best for them to live in this intex pool (I worry about their spines piercing the liner) or is it better for me to make a custom indoor pond? Price is not a big issue as I already have 2 12x14' liners, along with 3 6x8' ones just laying around along with a few pumps to use as filters. Only things I need are wood, insulation, and a heater.
