what'd you guys think of the movie? i thought it was pretty good, i'm not a hippy like that dude but i value some of his views on how society is all gimme gimme.

Haven't seen the movie, read the book about 9 yrs ago. Dude was REAL smart but kinda out there. I was actually about 5 miles from that bus when I went to Alaska in 98. I hope the movie does the book justice.
I read the book for school over the summer, very interesting. His parents came to talk to us this year.

The movie is very well done, but I liked the book better. The movie tended to focus the blame of his death on his parents, while the book focused on his life and travels and didn't lay blame for why he went off.
