This is one of those things you could careless about but at the same time you keep reading b/c it's intresting (or at least for me lol). Just thought I'd post it up, found it on one of the car sites I visit.

Audi got the boot, Owner got mad.

I personally dont blame him b/c he should have got a warning first, and that tire will prob. cost more to replace then that stupid ticket.

Long read so I just skimmed it and looked at the pictures like a 1st grader.....lol

Crazy story!

if he's planning on just replacing the wheels and tires, it will definately cost more. I'd rather give the money (even if it is 10x as much) to an auto dealership than the friggin' parking enforcement, though. I hate those guys!!!

I stole my truck back from the tow truck company once...

They towed from my own apartment complex parking lot (I guess my sticker expired). I went there to pay the $90 and get it back. as I was walking up to the office, at about 11:30 at night, I saw a tow truck going through the automatic gate (which was obviously open). I also saw my truck sitting right next to the gate. I also felt my keys in my right front pocket. In my mind, there was only one course of action. I ran, jumped in the truck, started it up and sped out of the gate just as it was closing. Man, did I think I was smarter and quicker than the guys that "stole" my truck. Until the cops show up at my apartment and threaten to charge me with felony burglary. The tow truck company agreed not to press charges if I pay triple the towing fee, $280. that sucked, but at least I'm not a convicted felon now.

Let this be a lesson to anybody who may find themselves in this predicament in the future; Just pay the fines/fees, or better yet, keep your permits up to date.

And not to run from the cops either...:D

That is hilarious!

I had a car towed in a situation like that a couple years ago. I went into my apt managers office and told them my car was in the shop and I needed to make sure they new the rental was mine. (They went by plate #, not mirror tag.) They said don't worry it would be fine b/c they don't actually check anyway - it's more for snow removal situations to match cars to apt numbers. The day I was to return my rental, I wake up to it missing. Well, towing company had it - and of course they were closed for some random holdiday or something. So I had to pay an extra day for it while I waiting to get the car. Then I was forced to pay a $350 fine/towing fee for a 'illegally parked car' on top of a two day storage fee. I went in to the apt managers office ticked off beyond all belief. I handed him the car rental bill, the 'fine' and said if you don't fix this today, you'll be hearing from my lawyer. He was confused as to why I was upset - and I reminded him that three days prior I was in here asking to document that I had a rental. He seemed hazy about it, but a stern word refreshed his memory. For some reason, I didn't renew my annual lease the next month.

Long story but kept me reading!! Tow company morally bankrupt..

Viva Dolly man!

Haha, nice

Great story. Fight the power Dolley Dude!
Or he could've just put the parking permit on the mirror, where it's supposed to be.
