Hey everyone,
I've been lurking here for a bit and wanted to say hi. Seems like a great forum.

I've got a 75 gal drilled tank, internal overflow with prefilter and bioballs, w/d filter with Rio 1700 return pump. Aquaclear 110 hob for mechanical filtration. 2 stealth heaters in w/d.

Tank has been up as planted community for 6 months. I was in petco a few weeks ago to get dog food and ran across 2 9" head to tail tiger oscars. They were raised together in a 55. They are beautiful and obviously well cared for. No signs of ever having hole in head, no torn fins or missing scales. I went back to work and imagined some idiot getting them and stuffing them in an uncycled 29. After loosing my 3 year old female betta recently, which the tank was built for I decided to go back and get them. They live with 2 juvie turquoise jewels (down from 4) and a 5" crayfish. Things were going great until last night when I noticed a few spots of ich. I increased the salinity to 1 table spoon of salt per 5 gallons and slowly raised temp to 82.

Last night the smaller O jumped and tore a few scales off on the hob filter. I'm thinking the raise in temp is making them more active?

For what its worth I do 2 50% water changes a week.
Ph- 8.0
Gh- 7
Ammonia- 0
NO2- 0
NO3- >12.5

I always add aquarium and epsom salts with Prime at water changes.

Any input or comments appreciated. Thanks guys.

PH of 8 bro isnt that a little high. I would keep it at neutral

you can't just change your pH. You can add driftwood/peat moss and use RO units but when you ave huge tanks its a lost cause.
