I'm Lindsey, I live in South Texas. I don't have any monster fish except our one Indo Datnoid, Spike.
Picked him up at around 3" back in September for $12 at the lfs. He is now 6" and eats like a pig and growing like a weed. He eats mainly mollies, ghost shrimp, freeze dried shrimp and various worms (earthworms, mealworms, grubs, etc). He'll take pellet food but only a few at a time until he gets bored with it...he loves to hunt.
He currently lives in a 75 with a 3" male convict, they live pretty much in harmony (knock on wood) and don't seem to even notice each other.
Eventually we would like to have a 150+ with 3 dats and a nice bichir, but that will be a while.
I'm really glad we got Spike, he is so much fun to watch and it doesn't hurt that he is just plain handsome
He hates the lighting on the tank he is in, it's too bright and his color stays washed out anytime they are on. Any advice on bulbs that will fit my hood but wont be so cold/bright. They are almost like fluorescent bathroom lights
