Hi there, I'm Richard from Victoria, Canada. I've been into fish for a couple of years now, and I'm a big fan of gouramis and smaller tropicals. I just bought a Nikon P1 - it's not a dSLR, but I wanted something small with a good lens. Nikon had me covered. I bought the camera for a product shoot, which it did admirably. Shooting my wet pets however, has been a little more challenging. I bought a vivitar flash gun and a wein peanut slave circuit to trigger it off of the Digital Camera's Flash. The camera is wayyy too small for a hotshoe (too bad they didn't put a slave at least). I already learned about adding paper to the onboard flash to diffuse it a bit.. that was a huge help.. so far I'm impressed with the camera.. I'll save up for something better, but for a point and click, it sure does offer a lot of nice touches that nothing in the competition even comes close to. I'm gonna scour the place for composition tips.
