Nah, I would just recommend heading over to your local Lowes and get a piece of acrylic glass custom cut to your tanks dimensions, and held together with suction cups.

dont use a solid piece of plastic, you restrict water flow, unless you plan on running 2 filters on each side.

Why not, I used one on my bowfront, just make a measurement at the bow if putting the divider in the center of the tank.

As suggested above get some plexi at Lowes, cut to size and drill a bunch of holes in it, just be careful not to crack the plexi while drilling.
