i combined my two tanks and added my punctata with my sveni. both are about 5-6" but i think the punctata is a little bigger. the sveni is chasing her relentlessly. no serious damage, knock on wood, just some scrapes from hiding under wood. i am adding some geos and festivum tomorrow so that may take her attention away from the punctata. do you think she'll calm down or will i end up re-separating them? this is the first fish besides my datnoid that she's chased like this. i did introduce a juvi rotkeil a few months ago and she eventually quit chasing her.

i do have some hiding spots, flower pot, driftwood and a few groups of plants. i was thinking of getting some PVC piping but i'd rather keep the tank looking more natural

i would get some PVC tubing my pike loooves it.

I'm thinkin if it doesn't stop in the first five days, and the punc. is still alive, I would separate them. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. The punc. should turn around and start sticking up for itself once it gets settle in though.

I would imagine the punc. would be much larger than the sveni!!! They are a robust pike. Probably fit the whole head of the sveni in its mouth if it wanted to right?

they could both prolly fit each others head in their mouths if they wanted. i think the sveni is about done growing, i bought her last spring while i bought the punctata in the fall and is still growing.

i just got home after being gone about an hour but the sveni seems to be leaving her alone now but the punctata is just chilling at the surface as far away from the sveni as possible

i did stop at home depot and get a 2ft section of 2.5" pvc, neither has gone near it yet so hopefully they'll learn to use it.

well never mind, i got home from the movies and the punctata was dead. im pretty pissed since she was a great looking pike :(

Man I am really sorry to hear that sean.
