Here&There
I currently have a silver aro (~6") in a 55gal. I also have a clown knife (~4.5") and seven redhooks (~2.5") in a 220gal. I have heard differing opinions about whether I should put the aro in the 220 now or wait until it reaches ~1' in length. The argument for waiting seems to be that the aro is more comfy and feels more secure in a smaller tank until it reaches ~1'. It would free up my 55gal to transfer him now, but I don't want him to be stressed due to my impatience. I have also heard that you should get all the fish together as early as possible so they "grow" used to one another. Anyone out there have experience with this issue or have any opinions? Does it really matter either way? Thanks in advance for the help.

Here is the first pic I've posted of the 220 mentioned above.

Im of the philosophy of putting everybody into one big tank early on.

1. Everybody gets used to each other and a dominance ladder is established quicker.

2. Most importantly - Given the larger volume of water your water will be of greater quality hence your fish will grow out more faster and be healthier.

* If being comfy is an issue just add plenty of cover and your fish will hide if it feels the need.

agree 100% im doing the exact same right now with my aros, tigers, and discus.

Truw, if you got it, you might as well use it.....makes sense to me.

if it was me... i wud put him now since the sizes of the aro and the other fishes are not so far... the aro is still the biggest of them so thats good. that way ull have another tank (the 55 gal) to play around with... :)

btw, i love how u did ur 200 gal aquarium! ;)

that is also what i am doing. i think fish tend to be less aggressive towars each other if they grow up together.
