So, I've got a number of severums around the house. They're all on a number of flake, pelleted, and frozen foods... but I'd really like to incorporate fresh vegetables into their diet.
I've got two older severums that I got from someone else when they were already around 7", and they tend to be highly reluctant to try new foods. Pellets are easiest, but sometimes they balk at frozen shrimp or fish (haven't tried things like bloodworms because they seem too small for those guys).
I used to throw cucumber and zucchini slices or peas, both fresh and blanched into the tanks, only to have to fish them out later when they were fouling up the water. My younger severums eat all this eagerly, so the veggies themselves aren't at fault...
I'd really like to try adding veggies again (I tried spinach today on the younger ones with great results), but don't just want to waste perfectly tasty, delicious, fresh, organic spinach on the big guys only to see it turn into green slime. Any tips/tricks from you folk?
