Introducing Male Dovii to Female

I have a 6" female Dovii and what appears to be a 3" male. At what size would it be safe to introduce the two?

I'm thinking about adding a divider and moving him up real soon to give them plenty of time to get acquainted. Or should I wait till it's an inch or so bigger and just add lots of hiding spots for them and forget about the divider.

i think you could add him now although i would have a divider handy jsut incase.

What size tank we talking about here? The bigger the tank the easier the introduction.

He could probably be added now if there is lots of cover, although waiting until he is 4" is a little safer. But if he is a he, he will end up outgrowing the female pretty soon.

Your male will outgrow your female anyway, so your best to let her live it up. Introduce him when he can stand up to her. Do some trials and se how it goes.

Well I held off.. I'm going to make 100% sure that the 6" is a female instead of a male. I'm about to sell it in favor of one that I know for sure of. Every board I go to has a different outlook on if it's male or female. I'm leaning towards Female now but I want to be sure.

BTW.. it would be in a 55 until I move my 150 from work back to my house. I'm thinking I should wait till I move that tank first though.

good choice on waitng. i let mine go at it in a 75. yeah they spawned jsut fine but after that the 75 wasnt enough room and i had to seperate and wound up trading them to someone who had a larger tank for them. g/l and keep us updated
