Hi all, this is my first post here but I have been using this site as a recource for fishkeeping info for months now, thought it was about time I joined.
I started keeping fish when I was a child, My Dad had a koi pond and he got me an 8 Foot tank as a starter! I have kept coldwater fish in aquariums and ponds for about 16 years and have been keeping Tropical for about 1 year.
I learned my trade with large coldwater Fish and am now proudly running an aquarium and fish section in one of Irelands largest petshops and the experience gained here has really pushed my fish keeping forward. During the course of a week I personally order, care for and sell about 3000 - 10,000 fish, hundreds of species so I learn quite alot quite fast quite regularly! At home I have an absurd amount of fishtanks and keep and breed mainly African cichlids. At the moment I am breeding Aulonacara Jacobfrebergi "Eurika" and am in the process of breeding Cyphotilapia Frontosa and Sciaenochromis fryeri or "Alhi". When I get a bigger place (I am in an apartment now) I plan on setting up massive tanks and keeping and breeding large New World Cichlids such as Trimacs, Oscars, Jack Dempseys, Red devils and Green Terror's. Oh well a man can dream cant he.....
