I've had problems with new additions living to my established tank. Any tips? Always get beat to death by all other fish. Have 9 total in a 50g. Peacocks.
All male show tank. All fish have been in for about 6 months. I lost an sp44 to aggression and a dragon blood to bloat. Currently 8 fish. Biggest is 3 inch smallest is about 1.5. The new fish is about 2, an amazing looking red empress. I rearranged rocks when I added him and have left off the lights for all but a few mins to check on him. I think I may need to add a few more. All but 3 are about fully colored.
I thought you said 'peacocks'.Sp44 is extremely aggressive and red empress is a hap which is also more aggressive which should be kept in a min 75g-also there is a huge difference between 1.5 to 3 in thats like a 6yr old compared to a teenager.
No, I do not need a bigger tank, if anything it needs to be stocked more. Stock list is in my sig. 1 vico, 3 haps now, 4 peacocks. Africans don't grow like new worlds do. Somehow forgot to put mixed instead of peacocks.
If I decide not to rehome any of my 2 big haps, (C azureus is not a big hap) they will move into my dovii's current 90 when I finally set up the 180.

Sp44 got killed by my ruby red and my pundamilia nyererei anchor island, so he isn't that aggressive. Was also the biggest in the tank as well when introduced.
an azureus and livingstoni also should be in a bigger tank, can get large-I had a 9 in azureus and livingstonis get even bigger.Whoever told you a 50g was sufficient-wrong
