I have a 125 gal aquarium with 8 cichlids and want to put another cichlid in whose a little smaller. The 8 in the tank are 6 parrot cichlids, a jack demsey, and a Midas cichlid. I want to put a flowerhorn cichlid in with them. The sizes are 4 of the parrots are 5 inches long. The other 2 are about 6-7 inches. The jack is the same and the Midas is most likely 8. The flowerhorn is 4 inches. There are plenty of hiding spots and only the Midas and the largest parrot are aggressive. Will this work? The tank the flowerhorn is currently in is a ten gallon which is too small. Please tell me what you think and I know it is somewhat crowded but there used to be way more in that tank.

There is a pic of the flowerhornimage.jpg

TBH I think your tank is over stocked. In addition, fully grown, your Midas and flowerhorn may become way too aggressive for any other tankmates.

woops forgot to answer your question. Yeah its possible, but you should also think long term if you don't have the space and money to keep your fish.

Thanks for answering the question and I know the tank is crowded it was not originally mine so the fish in it are old and since it's crowded they haven't grown to their full size and I don't believe they ever will most of them are ages 3-6 and this is only temporary until I can figure out what to do I believe the flowerhorn is too aggressive so I will isolate him later but for now he cannot grow in his current tank which is why I wanted to put him with the others

Well that's fine. If you can't upgrade your tank, you can just keep the flowerhorn and midas by dividing your 125g in half. Honestly you won't be able to keep your parrots and JD since both the Midas and FH outgrow them in size and attitude.
