I recently bought 4 baby snakeheads and they're pretty cheap here, costing $2 in total. I also bought a tank and some cheap filter but what i need to know is how big a tank should i need to keep them in and for how long till' they get too big. There are only two left due to unforeseen circumstances.

One's about the length of my index finger while the other is just slightly smaller. I have no idea what type of Channa they are at the moment. They're generally pink/beige in color although under certain light conditions they do start to show spots on their fins and along the length of their body. I'll try to post pictures for clearer identification.

I've been feeding them froze bloodworms but recently they have begun to lose interest. I'm going down to the store to buy some feeder catfish later but any advice on what i should feed them would be good.

I guess that's all for now. If you guys could share anything else useful about rearing baby snakeheads for beginners, i'd be more than happy to learn.

Thanks and much appreciated

Wait!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't give them feeder catfish they could get lodged in there mouths. If you going to go feeders at least use guppies, but quarantine them first. My snakeheads didn't eat at first either just give them time they'll come around. I tried mussels, bloodworms, earthworms, nothing worked until I tried live guppies. They snatched them up.Make sure you have alot of places for them to hide as baby snakeheads are usually in large groups at that age. Good luck

I've been feeding them tiny frogs i get for 15/$1 and they eat at least 3 each time i feed them. Will keep in mind not to feed them feeder catfish. Love how they swim directly under the floating frogs and prod them with their snouts before *AGUP!*, they eat them whole.

Thanks c:

Here in Singapore, almost every lfs stocks one kind of snakehead or another. At some places you'll find feeders while others you'll find the occasional Channa Bleheris/Striatas and some larger Micropeltes although those are usually only for show.

Where you at?
