ok im thinking about making a 20 gal planted tank featuring inverts im asking if what im planning to put in it is compatable with its counter parts animals with a * after theyre names means im willing to replace if a few get eaten ok heres my list and im willing to make variations and changes to it and im also open to suggestions

cherry shrimp*

armano shrimp*

singapore shrimp

ghost shrimp*

bumble bee shrimp

bamboo shrimp

rosy red minnows*

small crayfish*

blue crayfish

snails assorted*

fiddler crabs

fresh water clams

and im planning to plant it with

java fern

java moss

and bamboo or mangroove

im planning to use a gritty or sandy substrate
i need suggestions on what to use

and one more question can i use drift wood from the creek if i boil it?
 
Crayfish aren't a good idea. They will attack everything else in the tank. Most snails will uproot your plants. I have a black mystery snail that keeps uprooting my plants no matter how far I bury it under my gravel. They might also eat your plants, but only the edges of them for some reason. Crabs need land to survive for long periods of time. The problem with shrimp is that if you get more than one of each kind, they will fight. Freshwater clams will infest your fish with their parasitic children, so you should only get one.
 
I also find that when two different species look alike they hate each other. So maybe two core groups of shrimp that look completely different. As for the crabs 5 or 1. Because if you get less than 5 they will pick each other off.
