Ive been reading about mini planted tanks as small as 100ml and im trying my hand at it. i have a goldfish bowl that holds about 1.5g. I have silica sand in the bottom, a small piect of driftwood and about 12 1" pieces of java moss i planted with tweezers. i finally put it together last night. I got everything from my other tanks/pond so i should have plenty of beneficial bacteria and i pulled a filter cartridge and let it drip some organics off into the water to feed the moss. the avg water temp will be 70*
My question is: are there any shrimp or other small fish that would live in this other than a betta.

With a small airstone a pair of everglades pygmy sunnies or a few spotted gambusia (Gambusia holbrooki0 could work. also glass or ghost shrimp, or scuds.

Oh, just remembered these guys, a cheap, different critter that is interesting in it's own right and good food for hard mouthed fish, the tadpole shrimp. http://www.triops.com/index.php?link=product5

If you go with these DO NOT add fish, any fis small enough to healthily go in the bowl will be eaten by the shrimp.
By the way, the old fashioned flat style bowls or even the fully round ones are much better to keep fish in than the tall drum styles.

lol triops i remember those
